Job summary

Entegris is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I at our San Luis Obispo, CA site to design, detail, and document mechanical systems used in Ultra High Purity (UHP) gas purification equipment.

You will design components, create solid models and drawings, perform analyses, and collaborate with suppliers and operations to ensure products meet requirements. A Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering is required and strong CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, data analysis.
• SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D drawing experience.
• DraftSight/AutoCAD 2D CAD experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Engineer I, Mechanical Engineering Job Description: The Role: Our site in San Luis Obispo, CA. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design, detailing, and documenting electrical and electro-mechanical systems used in Ultra High Purity (UHP) gas purification systems assembled at our facility.

What You'll Do:

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for new and legacy UHP gas purification systems.
• Create concepts to be used in the development of new products.
• Size and select components as required to meet UHP gas purifier system requirements.
• Create solid models, drawings, procedures and other required documents to support development of systems.
• Perform and document mathematical computations and other analysis as required to support product design.
• Work with component suppliers and operations to ensure products meet design requirements.
• Assist in prototype testing as needed.
• Work in a fast paced highly productive environment where projects and direction can change quickly while creating thorough and detailed designs and documentation.
• Any other duties as assigned.

What We Seek:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, ability to analyze data.
• SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D drawing experience.
• Draftsight/AutoCAD 2D CAD experience preferred.
• PYTHON experience a plus.
• JIRA experience a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Detail-oriented and strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Able to work with all levels of employees and management within the organization.
• Comfort and ability to work within ambiguity.
• Prior internship and work experience a plus.
