Job summary

Entegris is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design Gas Filter, Diffuser and Purifier products within the Advanced Purity Solutions division. You will develop prototypes, coordinate with R&D and Operations, and progress concepts from prototype to production using stage-gate processes.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with 1–3 years of experience; MS is a plus. Hands-on tooling/design work and SolidWorks proficiency are valued, along with DFMEA/CFMEA and

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering; 1–3 years preferred.
  • MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field a plus.
  • Design, fabricate, and qualify tooling and equipment used in manufacture and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with machine shop tools and processes.
  • Solid modeling and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
  • PE certification or ability to obtain one a plus.
  • CFD/FEA experience a plus.
  • ASME Section VIII or similar codes familiarity a plus.
  • Stage-gate development experience from requirements to production readiness.
  • Motivated, able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Engineer II, Product Development Engineering

Job Description:

Entegris is seeking highly motivated individual for a Mechanical Engineering role to design Gas Filter, Diffuser and Purifier products. The position reports into the Advanced Purity Solutions division within Entegris' Micro-contamination Control division. This segment develops technologies that support development of the most advanced semiconductor applications in the world.

Position Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of Gas Filter, Diffuser and Point-of-Use Purifier product designs by conceiving, designing, and developing new prototypes and coordinating with R&D Media Development Team and Operations. The Mechanical Engineer should also be familiar and comfortable with stage-gate approach for Technology Development and New Product Introduction as well as design, documentation, and layout product formats to satisfy the requirements, and support improvement initiatives of existing and new products. Work with domestic and international company resources and vendors to move new concepts from prototype to production.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate projects related to technology development and new product introduction as it relates to component prototype development for ultra-high purity gas filtration /diffuser/point-of-use purifier technology.
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop prototypes with special emphasis upon high-purity processes and technology.
  • Characterize and test new products to ensure specified requirements are met.
  • Help design, build, and qualify various lab equipment, fixtures and tooling.
  • Provide documentation support such as creating/maintaining drawings, SOPs, test procedures, test data.
  • Performs wide variety of testing and development tasks as needed.
  • Assist in performing root cause analysis on quality issues on new and existing products.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives with manufacturing unit.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering. 1-3 years of experience is preferred.
  • MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field a plus.
  • Ability to design, fabricate, and qualify tooling and equipment used in the manufacture and testing of products. Hands-on experience using various machine shop tools, processes, equipment, etc. would be a plus.
  • Knowledge or experience in engineering design practices, solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred), and creating manufacturing drawings for use in producing prototype components.
  • Professional Engineer Certification, or ability to obtain one, a plus.
  • Experience with CFD/FEA a plus.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII or similar pressure vessel codes is a plus.
  • Ability to design and fabricate process/test equipment used for product testing/production.
  • Knowledge in semiconductor hardware and systems a plus.
  • Experience driving engineering deliverables through structured stage gate processes, including requirements definition, concept evaluation, design freeze, prototype build, DFMEA/CFMEA, validation, and production readiness.
  • Being highly motivated, and able to work independently, as well as in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Able to lift 50lbs.
  • Able to move between different office buildings in a Campus-style work environment.
