Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township, PA, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform ASME-based design and FEA of reactor vessel internals, translating requirements into compliant solutions using ANSYS tools. You will work with systems, manufacturing and component teams, enjoy technical ownership, and deliver safe, high-quality engineering work on schedule.

A BS in Mechanical Engineering and 0–2 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with relevant experience considered.
• Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical (APDL).
• 0-2 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations for and apply the ASME Code to the design and analysis of reactor vessel internals components using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering tools.
• Execute design and analysis plans from preliminary through final design, translating performance and structural requirements into compliant engineering solutions using lessons learned and best practices.
• Qualify component designs using ANSYS-based thermal and structural FEA, closed-form analytical methods, and Westinghouse internal engineering.
• Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to ensure effective subsystem integration and resolve design and production issues.
• Demonstrate strong technical ownership and accountability, delivering high-quality engineering work that meets safety, quality, and schedule expectations.]

Your Day-to-Day

Who You Are

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, (alternate degrees such as nuclear, aerospace, structural engineering, etc. will be considered with relevant experience).
• Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and at least a familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical (APDL).
• 0-2 years of experience required.
