Job summary

Solé Miami, a boutique beachfront hotel, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to oversee preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and allied systems. You will conduct repairs, perform routine readings, and maintain records to ensure safety and comfort for guests.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in commercial maintenance, with HVAC/plumbing skills, basic carpentry, and the ability to read blueprints. Pool operation certification is a plus; great communication with guests and staff is

• 2–5 years experience in commercial or institutional maintenance.
• HVAC or plumbing or electrical skills.
• Light carpentry and knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
• Pool operation certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and team.

Responsibilities

• Repair hotel air conditioning systems: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, electrical, and other equipment.
• Take readings on equipment and test cooling towers; record results.
• Repair pumps, plumbing fixtures, and light wall/ceiling work as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams; maintain PM records.
• Test, clean and repair pools and spas; ensure compliance with codes.

A day in the life...

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be a part of the team responsible for ensuring facility systems and structures are maintained and in working order. We are looking for a new team member who will take ownership of the preventative maintenance program/HVAC to protect our beautiful hotel.

To be successful in the Maintenance Engineer position, you...

• make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.


• perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).


• take required readings on equipment.


• test cooling tower and record readings.


• replace and program televisions as needed.


• replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.


• perform furniture repair.


• replace and repair pumps.


• perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc).


• understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.


• trace and repair all types of water lines.


• troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.


• maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.


• perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.


• test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.


• paint designated areas.


• repair and finish sheet rock.


• repair all types of wall coverings.


• repair and program hotel electronic lock system.

Requirements
