Job summary

Solé Miami, a Nob le House Hotels & Resorts property, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to maintain and repair hotel systems and infrastructure. The role focuses on HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and preventive maintenance to keep the building running smoothly.

You will read blueprints, perform repairs, and ensure compliance with local codes while supporting guest comfort and safety. Strong teamwork and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining commercial/institutional facilities preferred.
• HVAC, plumbing or electrical skills required.
• Light carpentry, painting and wallpaper knowledge beneficial.
• Pool operation certification is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Strong communication with team and guests is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Inspect, test, and repair equipment; read readings and record results.
• Repair and service swimming pools and spas; ensure safety and compliance.
• Repair fixtures, lighting, and wall coverings; perform basic carpentry.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain maintenance records and ensure compliance with codes.

A day in the life...

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be a part of the team responsible for ensuring facility systems and structures are maintained and in working order. We are looking for a new team member who will take ownership of the preventative maintenance program/HVAC to protect our beautiful hotel.

To be successful in the Maintenance Engineer position, you...

• make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
• take required readings on equipment.
• test cooling tower and record readings.
• replace and program televisions as needed.
• replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
• perform furniture repair.
• replace and repair pumps.
• perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc).
• understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• trace and repair all types of water lines.
• troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.
• test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
• paint designated areas.
• repair and finish sheet rock.
• repair all types of wall coverings.
• repair and program hotel electronic lock system.

Requirements

• Experience of 2-5 years preferred in commercial or institutional maintenance environment.
• HVAC or plumbing or electrical skills.
• Light carpentry and knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
• Certification in pool operation preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and other Team Members.
• Preventive maintenance background preferred.
• Read, write and understand English.
