About the Opportunity
PROLIM is seeking an experienced Engineer Guidance, Navigation & Control 3 (GNC Engineer) to support Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector in Chandler, Arizona.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level GNC engineer to contribute to advanced aerospace and defence programs, developing and evaluating guidance, navigation, and control solutions for aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, and launch vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, implementation, verification, and testing of GNC software and simulation toolchains.
- Develop and maintain 6-DOF simulations for flight algorithm design, analysis, and validation.
- Develop and analyse guidance, navigation, and control algorithms.
- Perform trajectory analysis and optimization to evaluate mission performance.
- Apply mathematical modelling and control theory to aerospace systems.
- Optimize flight and simulation software for performance, robustness, and maintainability.
- Support hardware/software integration, testing, and system analysis.
- Define performance metrics and evaluate GNC system performance.
- Present technical results, risks, and recommendations to program leadership.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, integration, test, and analysis teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 12 years relevant experience, OR
- Master’s degree + 10 years relevant experience, OR
- PhD + 8 years relevant experience.
- Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Strong experience with Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC).
- Experience supporting aerospace, missile, spacecraft, aircraft, launch vehicle, or autonomous systems.
- Experience with modelling, simulation, testing, integration, or analysis.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
