About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to lead the development, analysis, and optimization of advanced aerospace guidance, navigation, and control systems. In this role, you will contribute to complex aerospace platforms including aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, launch vehicles, and autonomous systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GNC algorithms, system modeling, simulation development, trajectory analysis, and flight software. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that ensure mission success while mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, implementation, verification, and testing of GNC algorithms and software solutions.
Develop, maintain, and enhance six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulations used for flight algorithm design, validation, and performance analysis.
Perform modeling, simulation, and system analysis to evaluate guidance, navigation, and control system performance.
Define performance metrics and conduct trajectory analysis and optimization studies.
Develop and integrate flight software and simulation toolchains to support system development and testing activities.
Optimize software and simulation environments for robustness, maintainability, and computational performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineering, software engineering, integration, test, and verification teams.
Support hardware and software integration activities and system-level testing efforts.
Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and present findings and recommendations to program leadership.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with 8 years of professional experience; OR
Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience; OR
PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
Experience with guidance, navigation, and/or control system design, analysis, or algorithm development for aerospace, missile, or autonomous systems.
Experience leading or significantly contributing to modeling, simulation, integration, testing, verification, or system analysis activities.
Strong proficiency in one or more of the following: C ., Python, MATLAB/Simulink, Similar engineering and analytical software tools
Experience developing software in a Linux environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong background in control systems theory, flight dynamics, and guidance law development.
Experience designing and implementing flight software solutions.
Knowledge of navigation systems and state estimation techniques, including Kalman filtering.
Experience with GPS technologies and navigation performance analysis.
Experience developing tracking, discrimination, and estimation algorithms for aerospace or autonomous platforms.
Proficiency with C , Python, Linux, and Jira.
Familiarity with modern software development practices including: Version Control (Git), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Software Verification and Validation
Experience working in multidisciplinary aerospace development environments.
