Job summary

Mavensoft Technologies, LLC is seeking a Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer III for an aerospace and defense program in Chandler, AZ. This on-site, 12-month W2 contract requires active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

You will design, implement, test and verify GNC algorithms and autopilot systems for missiles and space vehicles, using C++, MATLAB and Python in Linux environments, with 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, tuning, implementing, and testing guidance algorithms and autopilot parameters for missiles.
• Experience designing and testing missile autopilot systems and multiple control schemes.
• Strong understanding of missile control systems, classical and modern control theory.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining analysis tools in C++, MATLAB and Python.
• Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python toolchains.
• Travel 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Our Clientis seeking aGuidance Navigation Control Engineer IIIfor an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events.
• Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
• Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space.
• Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience designing, tuning, implementing, and testing guidance algorithms and autopilot parameters for guided missiles and/or interceptors.
• Previous experience in designing, implementing, and testing missile autopilot systems. Including exposure to multiple control system schemes for guided missiles and linear stability analysis.
• Strong understanding of missile control systems, including classical and modern control theory.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining analysis tools in C++, MATLAB and Python
• Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python toolchains
• Travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with GNC algorithms for hypersonic missiles.
• Experience with AEGIS weapon system.
• Experience with IR discrimination and tracking.
• Familiarity with state estimation and state propagation techniques.
