Job summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. is seeking an Engineer - Facility Projects to manage construction projects at production plants, reporting to the Plant Engineering Department.

The role focuses on coordinating design, cost, schedule and safety KPIs with internal teams and external partners. Qualified candidates will have a BS in a relevant engineering discipline, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to travel to NAMC sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in ME, EE, CE or ChME.
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel to support NAMC competitiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to North American Manufacturing plants for building design and construction standards.
  • Develop criteria for design of buildings (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil/structural).
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for industrial buildings and building systems for site groups and project submittals.
  • Lead plant planning, construction, and building design to meet quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through clear communication and consensus with the customer.

Toyota’s Plant Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Engineer - Facility Projects

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage construction projects (greenfield, expansion, etc.) at production plants. Reporting to the Manager of Plant Engineering Department (Construction), the person in this role will support the Environmental & Facility department's objective to provide project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs for North American manufacturing plants.

What you’ll be doing
  • Technical support to North American Manufacturing plants in the areas of building design and construction, including development and maintaining of building related standards.
  • Development of criteria (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil/structural, etc.) for design of buildings.
  • Subject Matter Expert for industrial buildings and building related systems as technical support for local facility groups at each site, as well as for submittals during project management.
  • Plant planning project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customer to support their needs.
What you bring
  • Bachelor of Science (ME, EE, CE, ChME).
  • Intermediate level experience of computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shutdown periods to support projects.
  • Ability to travel to support NAMC competitiveness.
  • Added bonus if you have Engineer in Training.
  • Experience in industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.).
  • Experience in industrial power systems (switchgear, power distribution systems, 480VAC and higher).
  • Experience in industrial structural steel systems.
  • Experience in large scale civil installations.
