Job summary

Gtatelecom in Rolling Meadows, IL seeks an experienced Telecom Engineer/PM for a 30-month hybrid role. You will coordinate 4G/5G tower modifications with general contractors, review RF datasheets and drawings, and manage hardware orders and inventory.

You’ll also survey assets, perform site bid walks, and ensure timely project starts. The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in engineering/PM/construction management with strong Excel skills and familiarity with telecom project tools.

Qualifications

• Coordinate 4G/5G tower modification projects via a general contractor.
• Review RF datasheets and construction drawings for accuracy.
• Order and track hardware; manage inventory to support builds.
• Survey shelter and tower assets to identify viable solutions.
• Perform site bid walks and coordinate with GC partners.
• Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets for data tracking.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and design support for macro modifications and initial builds.
• Assist equipment orders, manage timelines and releases with the team.
• Oversee GC inventory and Verizon database updates.
• Coordinate equipment receipt, acceptance, and project kickoff.
• Manage GCs for router, baseband, power plant, and battery upgrades.
• Coordinate cabinet builds from procurement to build with GC's.
• Demonstrate strong project management and communication with team members.

Job description

Come join one of the biggest Telecom Carriers for a long term, hybrid opportunity!
Contract length: 30 months
Location: Rolling Meadows, IL
Work Days: 2 days a week mandatory in the office (Tues/Wed)
Work Hours: 8am-5pm (1 hour lunch assumed)
Travel: At least 1 day of site visits every 3-4 weeks due to outer market site workload

Required Skills & Experience

• Coordination of 4G and 5G tower modification projects via a general contractor
• RF Datasheet Equipment and Construction Drawing review experience
• Ordering and inventory management of hardware
• Surveying shelter and tower assets to identify solutions
• Performing site bid walks
• Confident with computer programs, mainly excel/Google Sheets
• 7-10 years as an Engineer/PM/Construction Manager/etc.

What You Will Be Doing

• Responsible for Engineering and Design support of all equipment for Macro Modifications and Initial Builds, including RF Datasheet review, Mount Analysis and Construction Drawing Review
• Supporting the equipment engineering team with equipment order creation, manage timelines, manage releases, etc.
• Manage GC Inventory and Verizon Database.
• Oversee equipment receipt, acceptance, project start
• Manage GC's for Router/Baseband/Power Plant/Battery Upgrades for Modifications
• Coordinate Cabinet builds for Initial Builds from Equipment Procurement, Release, Build with GC's
• Strong Project Management and Communication skills with the ability to work closely with Team members.
