Day & Zimmermann seeks an engineering drafter to prepare CAD drawings from rough sketches under general supervision, using established standards. You will develop 2D/3D drawings and support electrical generation and distribution design.

Under guidance, you will perform file management, assist with design tasks, and collaborate with engineers and field staff to ensure accurate, on-time deliverables. The role requires a high school diploma or AA/Technical degree and 5+ years drafting experience;

Formación

• 5+ years of drafting experience required.
• Proficient in CAD software including Revit, MicroStation, AutoCAD.
• Basic knowledge of electrical generation and power distribution.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare CAD sketches and drawings; draw, back check, and correct drawings.
• Manage drawing files, records, and other duties.
• Support design functions under guidance of engineers, including field walkdowns and equipment specs.
• Provide drafting guidance as needed.

Under general supervision, with some exercise of judgment, prepares engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• With general instruction, procedures, and guidelines, prepares CAD sketches and drawings. Draws, back checks, and corrects drawings. 65%
• Performs drawing file management, recordkeeping and other duties as assigned 15%
• Participate (under guidance of experienced designers or engineers) in design functions such as field walk down, equipment/material specification/requisition, inter-discipline communication, etc 15%
• Provides technical drafting guidance as needed 5%

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• 2D/3D CAD skills. (Revit, Microstation, Auto CAD, PDS, Intergraph).
• Self starter with the ability and desire to learn.
• Basic knowledge of design practices for electrical generation, power distribution and control for low voltage industrial electrical and control systems
• Able to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
• Able to function in a team environment and appropriately interface with others.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School, GED Required or
• Associate’s Degree (AA) Technical Associates Degree. Required and Technical Degree Preferred
• 5+ years 5-10 years Required

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $83,680 - $125,520. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
