Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assists with day-to-day engineering support in the casting area and related operations for turbine engine components.
  • Performs design and analysis assignments involving tooling, production processes, and manufacturing issues in the casting area.
  • Supports setup, adjustment, and operation of processes on the shell line in casting area, including mold handling, coating, drying, dewaxing, and metal pouring.
  • Assists in development and implementation of SLA part numbers to replace wax patterns to improve casting yield.
  • Participates in scrap reduction through tooling design improvements and operator instructions.
  • Documents nonconforming parts and helps identify solutions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Supports use of On-line Quality Reporting (OQR), SPC, FDC on the factory floor.
  • Reviews engineering drawings to support production activities.
  • Supports safety audits and identifies hazards and PPE usage.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Assists with day-to-day engineering support in the casting area and related operations for the fabrication of turbine engine components. Works with engineers and management to support manufacturing improvements and help ensure that parts and components are produced in accordance with production planning, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Performs design and analysis assignments involving tooling, production processes, and manufacturing issues in the casting area. Assists in evaluating design concepts and feasibility under established engineering standards and supervision.
  • Supports setup, adjustment, and operation of processes on the shell line in the casting area, including automated functions related to mold handling, coating, drying, dewaxing, and metal pouring.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of SLA part numbers intended to replace wax patterns in order to improve casting yield and help reduce tooling and labor costs.
  • Participates in scrap reduction efforts through tooling design improvements, preparation of operator instructions, and support for corrective action activities.
  • Documents nonconforming parts in the internal quality tracking system, assists in monitoring trends, and helps identify solutions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Supports employee use of computerized systems on the factory floor, including On-line Quality Reporting (OQR), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Factory Data Collection (FDC), and similar programs.
  • Reviews engineering drawings and designs to support production and manufacturing activities.
  • Supports workplace safety efforts by helping identify safety hazards, confirming use of proper PPE, and participating in safety audits in accordance with company procedures.

M-F 40 hrs./wk. 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree inMechatronic Engineeringor a related engineering field.

Two years of applied engineering experience in aerospace gas turbine engine manufacturing.

Two years of experience in calibration, design analysis, and equipment setup in a manufacturing environment involving gas turbine engine components.
