Job summary

Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls in West Hartford, CT seeks an experienced CAD Library Engineer to create schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts per vendor datasheets and Triumph standards. You will verify symbols, process CAD library requests, and assist with tool support.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Mentor Graphics PADS and DxDesigner, IPC-7351, IPC610, and strong collaboration skills to ensure on-time deliverables in a machining-focused aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience developing schematic symbols and physical library parts.
• 5+ years’ experience in Mentor Graphics PADS layout and DxDesigner (VX2.4+).
• Experience with the IPC-7351 footprint creator, IPC610.
• Experience in DFM/DFT/DFA is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of electronic components, PCB technology, screening and parts selection.

Responsibilities

• Create schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts based on vendor datasheets and Triumph standards to be published to the centralized library.
• Verify and validate schematic symbols and footprints for parts created by others for accuracy and compliance with Triumph standards.
• Process CAD Library Requests and modify existing library parts for improved readability and producibility while meeting Triumph standards.
• Assist with the system and user support of the tools and process.
• Meet or exceed on-time delivery requirements by effectively planning needed resources and communicating progress.
• Identify and resolve project issues as they arise.

Job description

Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Responsibilities

• Create schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts based on vendor datasheets and Triumph standards to be published to the centralized library for use by the design engineers.
• Verify and validate schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts created by others for accuracy and compliance with Triumph standards.
• Process CAD Library Requests for new components and analyze/modify existing library parts for improved readability of the schematic or producibility of the physical shape within the system assuring compliance to established standards.
• Assistance with the system and user support of the tools and process.
• Meet or exceed on-time delivery requirements by effectively planning needed resources and proactively communicating in-process progress.
• Identify and resolve project issues as they arise.

• 5+ years’ experience developing schematic symbols and physical library parts for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• 5+ years’ experience in Mentor Graphics PADS layout and DxDesigner (VX2.4 and greater).
• Experience with the IPC-7351 footprint creator, IPC610.
• Experience in DFM/DFT/DFA is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and demonstrate effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of electronic components, PCB technology, screening, quality standards, parts selection and PDM is a plus.
• Experience as a PCB designer a strong plus.
