Job summary

CareWell Health Medical Center in New Jersey seeks an Engineer Black Seal to maintain and operate boilers and related mechanical equipment in the boiler room. The role supports hospital operations and contributes to maintaining quality maintenance standards.

The position requires 1–5 years in a hospital setting, a high school diploma or equivalent, and Blue Seal certification. You will perform preventive maintenance, monitor readings, and respond to plant operation requests as part of an on-site

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and rounds as scheduled.
• Makes hourly readings of plant equipment and records logs.
• Responds to calls or work orders pertaining to plant operation.
• Operates boilers and supplies steam, hot water, and air conditioning to the facility.
• Maintains boiler water treatment and runs daily tests to standards.
• Reports equipment status or problems to supervisor immediately.
• Records gauge readings hourly and monitors emergency contractor readings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Job Summary

Engineer Black Seal will maintain and operate boilers and mechanical equipment in the boiler room. They will also perform other general maintenance work to ensure hospital maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.

Essential Functions

• Performs preventive maintenance and is assigned and scheduled by the Supervisor.
• Makes hourly or needed rounds and readings of plant equipment and records all logs
• Responds to calls or work orders pertaining to plant operation
• Endorses a report to the relief operator as to the condition of all equipment
• Reports equipment status or problems immediately to Supervisor.
• Receives and monitors oil delivery and records readings
• Makes adjustments/repairs to equipment as necessary to maintain safe operation
• Checks and maintains boiler water treatment, runs daily tests to maintain set standards.
• Operates one or more boilers. Supplies steam, hot water, and air conditioning to the entire facility.
• And whatever work or duties assigned by the Supervisor
• Checks and tests water treatment, sets chemical test standards
• Blow down boiler and column per set standard
• Checks and tests the water safety alarm per State Requirement.
• Records and documents gauge readings hourly as necessary.
• Maintains and monitors Emergency Contractor readings

Minimum Education/Certifications
