Pike Engineering seeks a Substation Engineer to provide technical leadership for transmission substation projects, battery energy storage systems, and solar collector substations. The role includes direct billable project work and project management support, with mentoring for junior engineers and collaboration with clients and cross-discipline teams.
The successful candidate will lead discipline work, perform responsible charge engineering, and manage schedules and budgets while supporting
Provide substation physical engineering, technical support, and supervision toa Transmission Substation engineering and design team for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services. Provide technical competency and direction on complex engineering and technical problems for projects including a wide range of utility substation projects, battery energy storage systems and solar collector substations.This role includes both direct billable client work (project work) and project management support for projects. The incumbent is expected to lead discipline work for projects, perform responsible charge engineering duties, and manage project schedules and budgets. The incumbent will also support proposal development, project cost estimating as well as supporting business development efforts.
Under minimum supervision in the area of power delivery and grid analysis, the incumbent will provide:

No direct reports, but mentors and provides leadership to junior engineers, designers, and engineers outside the discipline.

RequiredA Bachelor’sdegreefroma four-yearcollegeorUniversityin Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering).
RequiredEngineering Degree awarded from a College of University that is accredited by ABET.
5-7Year(s) Experience as an Engineer with the electrical industry in the field of power delivery.
Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to be licensed within a year.
As needed for the job and employee development.
A. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operational procedures, etc.
B. Ability to write simple correspondence.
C. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community
A. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets.
B. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
C. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent and to draw and interpret spreadsheets
A. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
