Job summary

Paycom in Los Alamos, NM seeks an Engineer 2 to perform electrical engineering tasks supporting design, operation, maintenance, construction, and project activities. The role requires broad EE knowledge and DOE/DoD code familiarity to deliver practical solutions.

The Engineer 2 will perform analyses, design work, and technical evaluations, and will interface with project teams, construction personnel, and other stakeholders to improve processes and deliverables.

Qualifications

Job Details: Job Location: Los Alamos, NM 87545, The Engineer 2 performs engineering activities in support of facility design, operation, maintenance, construction, and project activities. This position applies broad knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, engineering technology, and applicable industry and Department of Energy (DOE) requirements to develop effective engineering solutions.

The Engineer 2 performs engineering analyses, calculations, design activities, and technical evaluations within the electrical engineering discipline. The position supports the development and review of engineering design packages and provides construction, field, and project engineering support.

This role works independently on assigned engineering activities and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. The Engineer 2 interfaces with engineers, project teams, construction personnel, and other stakeholders to support project objectives and continuously improve engineering processes and deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant engineering experience or practical experience sufficient to perform the responsibilities of the position.
• Broad knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and engineering methods.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry, regulatory, DOE, and NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards applicable to DOE and DoD facilities, including NQA-1, IBC, NFPA, and NEC.
• Experience developing, facilitating, reviewing, or supporting engineering design packages.
• Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables, including engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience with computer-aided design/drafting software, engineering software, or electronic markup tools.
• Ability to analyze engineering problems and develop practical technical solutions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, project teams, construction personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
