The Carpenter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving the physical appearance and functionality of the hotel through high-quality carpentry work. This role supports both guest-facing and back-of-house areas by ensuring hotel furnishings, fixtures, and structural elements are kept in excellent condition while maintaining the highest standards of safety, craftsmanship, and professionalism.
Install, maintain, and repair the fabric of the hotel through carpentry work, including doors, cabinetry, millwork, flooring, wall finishes, and other wood-based structures.
Install, repair, and maintain domestic fittings such as coat hooks, door closers, shelving, hardware, and other fixtures.
Manufacture, repair, and maintain custom pieces for various departments, including display cases, notice boards, shelving units, and other specialized items.
Identify repairs that require specialized expertise and report them promptly while ensuring any potential hazards are isolated and left in a safe condition with appropriate warning signage.
Maintain all equipment and the cleanliness and organization of the workshop, plant room, and all areas in the Engineering Department.
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments to support hotel operations and enhance the guest experience.
High school education or equivalent experience, or trade school in carpentry.
Two to five years of employment in a related position.
Requires technical knowledge of building painting, wall repair and maintenance.
Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job or through a series of professional certifications.
