Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club in Surfside seeks an experienced Residential Assistant Director of Engineering to oversee all engineering operations, drive preventive maintenance, and manage life/safety systems for luxury interiors and exteriors.

You will lead a hands-on team, partner with external contractors, and advance energy conservation while ensuring safety and comfort for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree or equivalent and industry certifications.
• Experience leading large maintenance teams in hospitality or luxury properties.
• Strong knowledge of life/safety systems, energy management and building operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities.
• Develop preventive maintenance plans and budget oversight.
• Ensure life/safety systems are compliant and up to date.
• Collaborate with external contractors for common spaces and resident requests.
• Drive energy conservation initiatives and asset lifecycle programs.
• Promote a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

About the role:

The ResidentialAssistant Director of Engineering forms part of the Residential team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for Building,overseeingall engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities including plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, electrical, ground care and parking areas. The Assistant Director of Engineering is also responsible for Life/Fire safety systems, energy/green initiativesystemsand management of other engineering work necessary tomaintainthe property in an efficient condition to ensure the safety and comfort ofresidentsand employees. This position supports the Director of Engineering in all aspects of the Residential operation

What you will do:

• Implement preventive maintenance schedules,policiesand procedures
• Comply withand enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards ofConduct asset forth inEmPact
• Ensure meter readings are taken daily on heat,lightand review information to evaluate consumption
• Maintainasset register for all equipment
• Maintainlicenses and permits required by local law for all MEP/plant
• Continued oversight and review of reserve study ensuring implementation of strategic planforall capital reserve expenditures
• Actively developenergy conservation programallowing the Residential and Master Associations tomeet its annual budget targets
• Develop closeworking relationswith outside contractors; engaging as needed for common space maintenance and for resident requests
• Assist with maintenance of all fire-fighting equipment and ensures that emergency procedures are understood and practiced by all employees
• Prepareannualmaintenanceplans and forecasts, managingbudget
• Is seen as a hands-on leader, assists employees in crunch times
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and ensures tools & equipment are well maintained and in sufficient supply
• Promotes and ensures a safe working environment
• Drive assets lifecycles with preventative maintenance projects, and reduce critical building issues.

What you bring:

• Professional degree in an Engineering discipline, trade degree in a specific technical field relating to Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering) or CEOE – Certified Engineering Operations Executive from the Hotel and motel Hospitality Association, Building Owners Management Institution (BOMI) designation, Real Property Administrator (RPA), Facility Management Administrator (FMA) or Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA)
• Experienced in construction phase area to secure retrieval, and filing of construction documents, permits, licensing, feasibility studies, and manuals, mechanical, electrical, wiring diagrams, hydraulics, blueprint updates, and testing and storage of necessary equipment and material pars, etc.
• 5+ years’ experience
• Hotsos experience a plus
