Job summary

Ameren Missouri is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to perform startup and checkout activities for new assets, supporting Missouri Regulated Generation Non-Nuclear energy centers with travel as required. The role leads checkout and start-up of new equipment and interfaces with industry contacts.

You will develop test plans, review specifications, and assist the project engineer in planning work, costs, and schedules while delivering reliable commissioning and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
  • PE License is preferred.
  • Experience managing, supervising, or leading people is preferred.

  • Develop test plans, test procedures, cost and schedule estimates, and preliminary work plans with identified resources.

About The Position

The Commissioning Engineer performs startup and check out activities for new assets as assigned by the Commissioning Supervisor. This position has primary responsibility for supporting Missouri Regulated Generation Non-Nuclear energy centers with travel required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and/or support projects involving electrical, mechanical and process equipment and related systems.
  • Develop test plans, test procedures, cost and schedule estimates, and preliminary work plans with identified resources.
  • Upon assignment, perform detailed system and existing equipment surveillance, and review specifications for equipment and construction details, review vendor O&M manuals, review contract for deliverable requirements, analyze proposals, produce cost and schedule estimates, and assist project engineer in the planning and coordination of work effort.
  • Lead the checkout and start-up of the new equipment.
  • Support engineering assistance to energy centers and other departments within the company on activities requiring experience and expertise with all systems.
  • Interface with industry contacts and outside corporations, including consultants, contractors, and their employees.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. PE License is preferred. Relevant engineering experience is preferred. Experience managing, supervising, or leading people preferred. Experience with low/medium/high voltage electrical equipment, including but not limited to switchgear, MCCs, motors, transformers, buses, instrument and controls engineering, field testing and troubleshooting of industrial equipment etc., preferred. Experience with protective relaying is preferred.

Additional Job Description
  • Must possess excellent analytical, communication, computer, human relations, and leadership skill. Travel between energy centers and the DRC and outside of the St. Louis area required. Subject to call-outs, nights, weekends and/or holiday work to support power plants.
Compensation Range
  • $71,100.00 - $215,300.00
  • * This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.
