Job summary

Ameren Missouri is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to perform startup and checkout activities for new assets and to support Missouri Regulated Generation Non-Nuclear energy centers with travel.

The role emphasizes managing projects involving electrical, mechanical and process equipment, developing test plans, and leading the checkout/startup of new equipment with engineering support across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • PE license is preferred.
  • Experience with low/medium/high voltage electrical equipment is preferred.
  • Experience managing, supervising, or leading people is preferred.
  • Experience with protective relaying is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and/or support projects involving electrical, mechanical and process equipment and related systems.
  • Develop test plans, test procedures, cost and schedule estimates, and preliminary work plans with identified resources.
  • Upon assignment, perform detailed system and existing equipment surveillance, and review specifications for equipment and construction details, review vendor O&M manuals, review contract for deliverable requirements, analyze proposals, produce cost and schedule estimates, and assist project engineer in the planning and coordination of work effort.
  • Lead the checkout and start-up of the new equipment.
  • Support engineering assistance to energy centers and other departments within the company on activities requiring experience and expertise with all systems.
  • Interface with industry contacts and outside corporations, including consultants, contractors, and their employees.
