Electrical and Plumbing Experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on experience, some of the essential duties and responsibilities outlined below may be taught and demonstrated during the Engineer training process.
- Reports directly to the Lead Engineer.
- Responsible for maintenance and repairs of all company equipment, fixtures, and structures both inside the property facilities and outside on property grounds.
- Required to operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, gas powered tools, man-lift.
- Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspect used parts to determine wear and dimensional requirements. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments with hand tools, levels, plump bobs, and straight edges.
- Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools and power tools; install functional and structural parts, start devices to test performance; lubricate and clean parts and equipment.
- Use drill press, grinders, welding equipment, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Assemble, install, replace, and repair pipes, fittings, fixtures for heating, water, air conditioning, and drainage systems, according to plumbing codes etc.
- Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing faulty pipes, and unclogging drains.
- Inspect pipe systems and/or repair malfunction, commodes, water heaters, and hot water tanks.
- Measure, cut, thread, bend, install, weld, and braze pipes and fittings.
- Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing fuses, light bulbs, ballasts, switches, wall plates and outlets, lighting fixtures, and using electrician’s hand tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair duties in guest rooms and public areas, including but not limited to room A/C, caulking, grout, tile, paint, wallpaper, finish plumbing, furniture repair, minor carpet repairs, and snaking/plumbing drains and fixtures.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Understands and follows all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- All other duties.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in this or a related field such as the Construction Industry and/or Casino, Hotel maintenance and facilities engineering fields.
LICENSES & TRAINING COURSES
- Valid State of Nevada Driver’s License required.
- Possess the ability to obtain a scissor/man-lift and forklift license before operating it.
- Ability to attend all required HR, Safety & Engineering training courses.
AGE AND GAMING
- 21 years of age or above.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to speak, read and understand written instructions in English required.
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
- Ability to respond to inquiries, complaints, and emergencies.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- A commensurate understanding of mathematical principles pertaining to Engineering, such as; the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and calculate.
- Ability to follow Manufacturer’s instructions for assembly, repair, installation etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Lift and/or carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see and hear.
- Reach with hands and arms, sit, kneel, stand, bend, stoop, twist, lift, kneel, crouch and crawl in all types of weather conditions including cold, wet, windy, and extreme heat.
- Also use hand-eye coordination to inspect, handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to climb and balance on ladders 12+ feet high.
- More specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Summary
The Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all Casino and Hotel grounds, machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation, in accordance with the Engineering Departmental SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) while maintaining a professional, friendly, and safe environment for all guests and co-workers to enjoy.
