Job summary

The STRAT is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, smooth operation across guest rooms, dining venues, casino floors, and back‑of‑house facilities in Las Vegas. You will troubleshoot, repair, and install systems and perform preventive maintenance to uphold quality and compliance.

Responsibilities include responding quickly to maintenance requests, communicating work orders, and ensuring adherence to gaming regulations. A strong emphasis on guest safety and service is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hotel or facility maintenance experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and safety‑conscious work environment.
  • Knowledge and/or certification in plumbing, air handling, refrigeration, electricity, electronics, carpentry, flooring, kitchen equipment, or upholstery.
  • Southern Nevada pool certification preferred.
  • 5 years of plumbing experience preferred.
  • Proven experience delivering high‑quality guest service.

  • Complete minor cosmetic repairs and installations for furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Assist in shift turnover by communicating pending work orders and unresolved maintenance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws, internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations.
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Position classified as safety‑sensitive and requires successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • Obtain and maintain all required work cards as required by the company.
  • Verify right to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently push or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequently lift or carry up to 100 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels.
  • Regularly squat, kneel, reach, bend, and twist.
  • Regularly stand and walk throughout shift.
  • Occasionally sit and work at a desk or computer.
  • Ability to communicate using in‑person speech, radios, and telephone.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds in person.
  • Ability to distinguish between shades of color.
  • Ability to use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, and/or ramps.
