Job summary

Group 1 Automotive in the DC metro area is seeking an Automotive Flat Rate Technician to join our service team. You will perform high-quality repairs, diagnostics, and road tests in a fast-paced shop environment with a focus on customer service.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and ASE certifications are preferred. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, with comprehensive benefits and training programs.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Automotive Flat Rate Technician is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• ASE certification(s) or certification(s) in brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and work ethic.
• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment.
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times for customer communication.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology.
