Job summary

Power Solutions International is seeking an Engineering Technician II to support Base Engine, Test, and Engineering teams in developing and executing test programs. You will instrument, install, and test engines in a lab environment, perform teardown and assembly, and help communicate results to internal customers.

The role requires a two-year automotive tech degree (ASE preferred) and 3+ years of engine development/testing experience.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in automotive technology or related field; ASE or similar certifications preferred.
• 3+ years of directly relevant work experience in engine development and/or automotive testing.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret diagrams.
• Experience with engine dynamometer systems and calibration methods.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Instrument engines and test articles; assemble and install on test stands.
• Operate test equipment and collect data for engine development and validation.
• Perform base engine teardown and component testing.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and fixtures.
• Prepare concise test reports and communicate results to internal customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address manufacturing/process issues.
