Job summary

Power Solutions International (PSI) is seeking an Engineering Technician III to support Base Engine, Test, and Engineering teams in developing and executing test programs. Responsibilities include instrumenting engines, operating test equipment, collecting data, and preparing results for engineers.

You will tear down and assemble engines, use precision tools for measurements, and help develop test plans while ensuring data quality and communicating findings to internal customers.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in automotive technology or related field; ASE or similar certifications preferred.
• 5+ years of directly relevant work experience in engine development and automotive testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop new standardized testing methods and document procedures.
• Streamline test setup and workflow in the lab.
• Setup and instrumentation of test articles (engines/components).
• Maintain testing equipment and perform scheduled maintenance.
• Fabricate test fixtures, mount hardware, and fluid systems.
• Install articles onto test stands and ensure calibration.
• Interface with PCs and data acquisition to tailor testing systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
• Perform engine maintenance, teardown, and measurements.
• Contribute to test plan development and data quality reviews.
• Prepare concise test reports with methods and data summaries.
• Support product development activities and design reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve issues.
