Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an engineer/technician to conduct performance and reliability testing on engines and components within the Emissions Measurement Laboratory. The role involves configuring data acquisition, analyzing data, and preparing test plans and reports.

The position requires building and installing test articles, performing diagnostics, and coordinating with engineers and customers. On-site work in Columbus, IN is required, with weekend night shifts as described.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: high school diploma or GED, or associates/bachelors in a related field.
• Experience with test stands, data acquisition, and instrument calibration is preferred.
• Ability to read prints/drawings and assemble test articles and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems and controls.
• Configure and operate data acquisition systems; write programs for data interpretation.
• Build, tear down, and inspect test articles and engines.
• Prepare test reports with findings, conclusions and recommendations.
• Train apprentices and interact with customers, suppliers and engineers.
