Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking an Engineer III – Systems Engineer Engines in Wisconsin to lead design and validation of power system components. You will work with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, sourcing, and marketing to bring new engines and systems to market.

The role requires hands-on CAD modeling, FEA/CFD analysis, and strong communication skills to document and present design decisions. Extensive travel to Generac facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong CAD skills with 3D modeling.
• Experience with plastics, aluminum castings, sheet metal.
• Experience in new product design and development.
• Ability to perform analysis with FEA, CFD.
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate technical information to all audiences.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Designs, validates, and brings new products to market.
• Specifies functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components; assesses cost, reliability, and safety.
• Develops tests and validation plans for various products and components; creates BOMs.
• Collaborates with manufacturing, suppliers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs.
• Uses CAD/CAE to model designs and produce detailed drawings.
• Supports product development plans (schedule, cost, inputs).
• Mentors less experienced engineers.
• Travel to other Generac facilities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
