Job Purpose

Honda Aero, LLC in Burlington, NC is in search of a team member responsible for overall engine quality in the Repair Station area, supporting new Production engines as needed. Ensure compliance with aviation maintenance (Part 43/145) and production (Part 21) regulations. The member will perform and coordinate various quality-related activities supporting HAI's assembly, inspection, test, maintenance, and overhaul activities.


Key Accountabilities
  1. Perform inspection and release of engines and parts, including visual inspection, borescope inspection, and basic hand measurements.
  2. Ensure all paperwork associated with product shipment complies, including creation of shipment documentation required by the customer.
  3. Ensure compliance of engine work plans with approved design data, including review and incorporation of engine manual changes and Service Bulletin updates for Repair Station and support review/incorporation of changes in design and engine drawings/specifications for Production.
  4. Ensure shop floor activities are executed per approved procedures, and provide feedback for improvements.
  5. Review and propose inspection methods and devices used in engine inspections, and assess product impact when gaging is out of tolerance.
  6. Facilitate removal/replacement and investigation of suspect parts, including documentation of condition.
  7. Support root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation related to product escape, defect prevention, and system/databases used.
  8. Participate in other projects as specified by Quality Management.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
  • Associates degree in a technical field or applicable work experience.
  • Part 65 FAA Powerplant mechanics license required.
Minimum Experience
  • At least five (5) years of Repair Station or Production experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in a Repair Station Inspection role.
Other Job-Specific Skills
  • Knowledge of 14CFR Part 43 and Part 145; Part 21 knowledge preferred.
  • Proven ability in written communication, including technical writing and presentations.
  • Ability to understand design data (drawings, manuals, specifications).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to procedures.
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of tooling and gaging.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP/MES systems like IFS or Solumina.
  • Ability to foster teamwork.
Working Conditions
  • Work in shop floor and office environments, with required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Corrected 20/20 vision.
  • Enrollment in DOT/FAA Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse program.
  • Potential for shift work and domestic/international travel.
