Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in the Large Power Systems Division is seeking an experienced Performance/Simulation/Application Engineer to advance engine core component simulations, fatigue and durability analyses.

You will collaborate with global teams and define simulation requirements for new product development, documenting objectives, methods, results and conclusions. The role requires a Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, strong FEA skills (Abaqus/ANSYS), and TMF with fatigue life

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• Strong proficiency in structural FEA with nonlinear materials and contact modeling.
• Experience with TMF simulations and fatigue life prediction methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform FEA for engine core components (heads, blocks, liners, pistons).
• Run coupled coolant CFD-heat transfer, TMF simulations for durability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define simulation requirements.
• Document analysis objectives, methods, results and conclusions.
• Interpret results and provide design recommendations and improvements.
