Job summary

Warren CAT in Oklahoma City is seeking an Engine Field Tech II to provide high quality repair service on equipment, ensuring value for work performed and responsive to customer needs.

You will complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times, perform diagnostics and repairs, and document work orders, with readiness for overtime and on-call as required. This role requires strong tool knowledge and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required
• AA in Applied Diesel Technology preferred
• Knowledge of database software and order processing systems
• Must be 21+ years old

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times and re-do metric
• Complete paperwork and access databases for work orders and parts orders
• Remove/install parts, disassemble/assemble components, inspect assemblies
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and recommend repairs
• Test and verify operation of repairs
• Accurate and timely service reports and timecards
• Perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision

The Engine Field Tech II is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Understand and apply CAT reusability guidelines.
• Timely parts and core returns with appropriate documentation.
• Perform warranty downloads of ECM.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical engine repairs and adjustments.
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
• Accurate and timely service reports and timecards daily.
• Perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or suggest three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• AA in Applied Diesel Technology, preferred.
• Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software and order processing systems.
• Must be at least 21.
• Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
• Product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical and components.
• Ability to provide accurate quotes.
• Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on-call.
• Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software and Order processing systems.
