Job summary

Warren CAT in Oklahoma City seeks an Engine Field Technician II to deliver high-quality repair service on equipment, ensuring timely responses and maximum value for work performed. You will complete jobs, manage paperwork, and troubleshoot engine systems on a range of CAT machinery.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of related experience or a GED/HS diploma, with strong tool skills and the ability to work varied shifts, overtime, and on-call.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 3–5 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of database, internet, manufacturing software and order processing systems.
  • Must be at least 21.
  • Proficient with basic hand tools, air tools, measuring tools, laptops and diagnostic software.
  • Product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic and mechanical components.
  • Ability to provide accurate quotes.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times and metrics.
  • Complete related paperwork and access required databases accurately.
  • Remove/install parts, disassemble/assemble components, inspect assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Understand and apply CAT reusability guidelines.
  • Timely parts and core returns with documentation.
  • Perform warranty downloads of ECM.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and make repairs.
  • Test and verify operation of repairs and adjustments.
  • Apply general failure analysis to determine diagnosis.
  • Accurate and timely service reports and timecards daily.
  • Perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision.

Job description

The Engine Field Tech II is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Understand and apply CAT reusability guidelines.
  • Timely parts and core returns with appropriate documentation.
  • Perform warranty downloads of ECM.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical engine repairs and adjustments.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
  • Accurate and timely service reports and timecards daily.
  • Perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or suggest three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software and order processing systems.
  • Must be at least 21.
  • Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical and components.
  • Ability to provide accurate quotes.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on-call.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software and Order processing systems.
