Description

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business (Sioux Falls, SD).

$5000 sign on bonus

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
• Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
• Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
• Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
• Engage in ongoing training and obtain additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.

Responsibilities

In order to be successful in this role, you will need the following:

• Proficient knowledge in troubleshooting Cummins electrical and aftertreatment using Cummins Insite.
• Experience in replacing internal components (head, pistons, liners, etc.).
• Embrace the Cummins values and use them daily.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude that contributes to the team.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
• Locally Valid Driving Permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

• A current valid CDL is required for this role.
• A 5-year motor vehicle report, free of major violations, is required.
• This role is subject to FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements and ongoing random testing.
• Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
• Applicant must be 21 years or older to comply with federal law for commercial vehicle operators.
