Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI is seeking an engine component design and release engineer within the IPTSE organization. You will design, release and manage core engine components such as structural aluminum castings, steel forgings, injected molded plastics, and FEAD components.

You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, lead CPMT activities, and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Role requires CAD experience (CATIA/NX/CREO), strong leadership, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong leadership ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design & Release new and existing components/sub-systems.
• Create & own the 3D models & 2D drawings for assigned components.
• Lead sub-system CPMT activities and manage CPMT documents.
• Lead resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues.
• Interface with dynamometer testing and CAE resources (1D/3D/FEA/CFD).
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams including manufacturing.
• Support program meetings and testing, including DVPs and validation.
