Own engine subsystem design release processes using OEM PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, CATIA).
Approve drawings, BOMs, part numbers, configuration content, and maintain engineering documentation quality.
Product Development & Validation
Follow the Design Change Checklist for each part to determine required DV and PV.
Develop and maintain DVP&R for assigned systems and components.
Execute necessary CAD and CAE updates to support engineering changes.
Support DV/PV testing including durability, thermal, NVH, performance, and emissions.
Coordinate prototype, mule, and pre-production engine builds.
Change Management
Perform WERS releases and participate in change control boards.
Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
Ensure all design changes are evaluated for impacts on cost, quality, emissions, and timing.
Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead interactions with new and existing suppliers, collaborating with Ford STA where required.
Oversee moving multiple parts across various engine platforms to alternate suppliers.
Support PPAP readiness and launch activities.
APQP & Quality Assurance
Lead APQP activities including DFMEA, PFMEA, SCAAFS, control plans, and other quality deliverables.
Ensure compliance with quality systems, program requirements, and risk management practices.
Maintain and support engine BOM structures.
Technical Focus Areas
Powertrain systems including base engine components, exhaust/aftertreatment, turbochargers/air induction, thermal systems, fuel/ignition/evaporative emissions, and other ICE subsystems.
