Job summary

General Motors seeks an Engineering Group Manager to lead an Engine Calibration and Controls team within the Engine and Transmission Controls Organization. The role requires guiding technical execution, staffing, and cross-functional delivery to meet emissions, fuel economy, drivability, and program timing.

The successful candidate combines strong calibration expertise with inclusive leadership, prioritizes work, and drives robust calibrations from development through launch and production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Significant experience in engine controls and calibration.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams and cross-functional programs.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine controls, calibration, and emissions considerations.
• Experience delivering calibration content through development, testing, release, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction, staffing, and execution expectations for the calibration team.
• Own delivery of controls and calibration content for engine programs across dyno, vehicle, and production support.
• Ensure plans, requirements, test results, and release artifacts are complete and traceable.
• Partner with software, hardware, emissions, validation, manufacturing, service, and supplier teams.
• Lead complex issue resolution spanning multiple technical domains.
• Represent the team in technical and launch reviews and governance forums.
• Improve standard work, metrics, and data-driven processes to boost quality and reduce cycle time.
• Identify risks early and implement mitigation; mentor and develop staff.
