Job summary

Southampton County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Teacher to deliver instruction when the regular teacher is absent. You will follow lesson plans, maintain an orderly classroom, and ensure a positive learning experience for students.

You will collaborate with staff, support students’ learning, and uphold school policies while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching license or substitute teaching certification.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher to deliver instruction to students.
• Utilize instructional materials and resources to engage students in learning activities.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Implement classroom rules and procedures to ensure appropriate student behavior.
• Address disciplinary issues in accordance with school policies and procedures.
• Provide assistance to students with classwork and assignments.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback as needed.
• Support students in developing effective study and organizational skills.
• Communicate effectively with school staff and administrators regarding any issues or concerns.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Participate in school activities and events as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with school policies and regulations.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and a positive attitude in all interactions with students, staff, and parents.
• Follow all school policies and procedures.
