Job summary

Coleman Health Services in Ravenna, Ohio is seeking an Activity Director to enhance the quality of life for clients with cognitive and physical impairments through engaging recreational and therapeutic activities.

The role focuses on individualized care plans, coordinating volunteers, and collaborating with the Nursing Department to monitor client needs and plan memorable activities. This full-time-like schedule supports the facility’s mission to provide compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Prior experience coordinating activities or events.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a healthcare or social service setting.
• Experience with older adults and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate recreational and therapeutic activities based on client needs.
• Maintain a monthly calendar of events and track participation.
• Schedule entertainers and volunteers monthly.
• Lead group activities and one-on-one visits.
• Publish a monthly facility newsletter.
• Develop individualized care plans for each client.
• Communicate client conditions with Nursing Dept.
• Maintain a monthly departmental budget.
