Job summary

Allure Healthcare Services is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the activities program for residents. This part-time role runs from 9:00 to 16:30 with every other weekend hours, 8:30–3:30. Experience in Memory Care is preferred but not required.

The Activities Assistant will work under the Activities Director to implement individual and group activities, document interactions, and help plan events that engage residents while following infection control practices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Completes assignments timely, completely and accurately.
• Memory Care activity experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Director in implementing programs of individual and group activities based on residents’ needs.
• Document interactions with residents and families in assessment, care plan and progress notes per regulations.
• Assist in planning and implementing evening and weekend functions as needed.
• Schedule and implement room visits and in-room activities for residents unable to leave their rooms.
• Maintain records of participation and resident response to activities.
• Prepare materials and equipment for activities and report supply needs to the Director.
• Deliver personal mail to residents and read upon request.
• Interact with residents respecting rights and facility policies.
• Observe infection control procedures related to the Activity Program.
