Job summary

The incumbent will plan, organize, and deliver courses, maintain student records, and participate in program accreditation and staff development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of thirty (30) credit hours in English coursework.
• Four (4) years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and instructs courses as assigned by the Department Chairperson/supervisor, utilizing effective instructional strategies and a learning management system to promote student success.
• Demonstrates best practices in instruction and classroom management that respond to students’ diverse academic needs.
• Uses instructional technology including multimedia to meet students’ learning needs and achieve objectives.
• Plans and develops new curriculum and courses; evaluates and revises existing curriculum and contributes to program review.
• Participates in the planning and implementation of Student Learning Outcomes Assessment (SLOA).
• Serves as an advisor to promote student retention and progression.
• Maintains six posted office hours per week for student accessibility.
• Keeps timely student records and reports progress and attendance.
