Bensenville School District 2 seeks an Elementary Spanish Teacher to provide immersive language instruction at Johnson School for the 2027-2028 year. You will develop proficiency across listening, speaking, reading, and writing, using engaging, culturally aware methods.

Qualifications

• Valid IL PEL with Spanish endorsement
• Strong proficiency in Spanish
• Experience with immersion-based instruction preferred
• Experience teaching elementary students preferred
• Strong instructional, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learner needs

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Spanish instruction aligned with district curriculum and standards
• Provide immersion-based instruction to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish
• Use interactive strategies (games, songs, stories, hands-on activities) to support language acquisition
• Assess progress, give feedback, and adjust instruction for individual needs
• Introduce students to Spanish-speaking cultures to foster cultural awareness
• Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment encouraging participation and respectful communication
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student achievement
• Integrate Spanish with other subjects and participate in school initiatives
• Participate in professional development and district activities
• Maintain accurate student records and comply with district/state requirements
• Support district educational philosophy and goals
