Job summary

YWCA Central Massachusetts in Worcester, MA seeks a Substitute Group Leader for after-school programs. Work 2:00pm–5:30pm at Roosevelt or Clark Street School, assisting with activities and supervision of children.

Candidate should be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 months' experience with school-aged children. This position offers afternoon hours in an educational setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 months experience working with school age children.
• Ability to relate with coworkers/parents in a cooperative and positive manner.

Responsibilities

• Implement an environment with a balance of social, recreational and structured activities and where children can learn and grow, interact comfortably with adults, and participate in individual and group activities.
• Supervising children in play and structured activities.
• Maintaining a safe and clean environment for children, performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Communicating with parents on a daily basis regarding progress of their child, participating in parent activities as appropriate, and working with School Age Site Coordinator in working with families who are in need of intervention.
