Job summary

Associated Recreation Council in Seattle seeks a part-time School-Age Care Counselor to support after-school programs for ages 5-12. You will supervise, implement activities, and foster a safe, inclusive environment at Jefferson Community Center and other Seattle sites.

Requires 18+, high school diploma, and DCYF-related checks; ARC will assist with TB testing and required clearances. Schedule is Mon-Fri, with up to 23 hours weekly, possible summer work.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• DCYF background checks and TB testing required after hire; ARC assists with these requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists and leads daily curriculum activities with children aged 5–12.
• Models appropriate behavior and supports social and emotional growth.
• Helps maintain staff-to-child ratio of 1:10 where possible to ensure safety and accountability.
• Collaborates with ARC School-Age Care staff and follows guidance from the School-Age Care Director.
