Job summary

Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in New York is seeking a full-time Activity Aide to lead daily group programs, transport residents, and support engagement.

You will set up activities, track attendance, provide one-on-one visits, and report changes to the nursing staff; a high school diploma is required and experience in long-term care is preferred, with a warm, patient, and energetic demeanor around older adults.

• Interpersonal skills: warm, patient, energetic attitude when working with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Run daily group programs like bingo, music hours, exercise classes, and arts and crafts.
• Transport Residents: Help residents get to and from the activity room safely using wheelchairs or walkers.
• Setup and Cleanup: Arrange chairs, tables, and equipment before events begin and pack them away afterward.
• Track Attendance: Keep daily records of who joins each event to measure resident participation.
• Provide One-on-One Visits: Spend time with roombound residents to offer conversation and personal engagement.
• Report Changes: Notice changes in a resident's mood or behavior and share updates with the nursing staff.
