Job summary

Ecumenical (Harrisburg) is seeking an Activities Assistant to create engaging experiences for residents in a vibrant senior community. The role supports participation in arts, wellness, and social events, and collaborates with the Activities Coordinator to plan on- and offsite activities.

The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and strong communication, with a willingness to work a set daytime schedule and participate in community life.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in group socialization or recreational programs preferred.
• Energetic, personable, positive, enthusiastic, creative and imaginative leadership style.
• Ability to communicate intentions to residents and co-workers; empathetic listening.
• Valid driver’s license with no major violations in the past three years.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required.

Responsibilities

• Generate ideas for new and favorite experiences.
• Drive residents’ interest in a dynamic lifestyle to promote a sense of pride and purpose.
• Venture out with residents to theaters, museums, sporting events, restaurants, special destinations and more.
• Team up with the Activities Coordinator and/or Associate in preparing and planning on and offsite events and activities.
• Promote a positive, enthusiastic environment to motivate resident engagement.
