Job summary

Heritage Ministries is seeking an Activities Assistant to deliver a program of spiritual, social, recreational, and educational activities for residents. You will support the Activity Director, coordinate group and individual activities, and foster meaningful, compassionate engagement in a respectful setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED/TASC, and preference for experience with the geriatric population or recreational settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/TASC required.
• Experience with geriatric population or in a recreational setting preferred.
• Ability to lift over 60 pounds and to stand, walk, sit, bend, and twist.

Responsibilities

• Lead group and one-on-one activities as directed by the Activity Director.
• Assist in planning activity programs for residents.
• Assist in recruiting residents for activity programs, resident council, etc.
• Transport residents to and from activities, meals, and appointments.
• Accompanies residents to activity programs outside the facility.
• Assesses resident needs and develops goals and approaches to any identified problems.
