Job Description

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects. This role combines technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive successful AWS-based implementations. Responsibilities include bridging business requirements with technical solutions, facilitating technical discussions, applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework, and demonstrating technical credibility across stakeholders. You will translate customer needs into technical requirements, decompose problems, and make trade-offs considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact.

Ideal candidates will possess strong technology and project management experience, validate technical solutions against business goals, recognize when additional technical evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks. Maintaining relevant AWS certifications, developing domain-specific expertise, and effectively communicating technical concepts are essential. As you grow, you will lead more complex projects, shape technical strategies, and establish best practices. Your leadership will help execute project plans, manage risks, resolve issues, and exceed customer expectations.

About the Team

Our global AWS Professional Services team helps customers achieve their business goals using AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network to execute enterprise cloud initiatives. Our offerings support enterprise cloud adoption, and our specialty practices cover various solutions, technologies, and industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects.
  • Leverage AWS services, architectures, and best practices for strategic planning.
  • Bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate engineering discussions, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes.
  • Translate customer needs into technical requirements aligned with business goals.
  • Decompose technical problems into actionable solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and standards.
Qualifications
Basic
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud computing.
  • Experience managing technical projects.
  • 3+ years of experience with SDLC methodologies (Waterfall/Agile).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred
  • AWS experience preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices.
  • Experience with AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework.
  • Ability to establish technical credibility with engineering teams and senior decision-makers.
