Job description

Veeva Systems is a mission-driven organization and pioneer in industry cloud, helping life sciences companies bring therapies to patients faster. As one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in history, we surpassed $2B in revenue in our last fiscal year with extensive growth potential ahead.

At the heart of Veeva are our values: Do the Right Thing, Customer Success, Employee Success, and Speed. We're not just any public company – we made history in 2021 by becoming a public benefit corporation (PBC), legally bound to balancing the interests of customers, employees, society, and investors.

As a Work Anywhere company, we support your flexibility to work from home or in the office, so you can thrive in your ideal environment.

The Global Medical Business Consulting team supports Medical Affairs and Medical Information teams across the industry to establish and excel at the foundational medical excellence capabilities that drive HCP engagement and patient outcomes.

Veeva supports medical teams across KOL strategy, content enablement, medical insight strategy, and more.

We combine technology, data, and services to uncover opportunities for growth, optimization, and innovation. Our ultimate goal is to clearly measure medical’s impact throughout the product lifecycle.

We’re seeking a senior leader to advise on end-to-end content operations for Medical Affairs, enhancing HCP omnichannel engagement and linking content to impact measurement. As demand for medical content grows, our clients aim to accelerate development, approval, and delivery while adopting new channels and data-driven strategies. Using platforms like Veeva MedComms and MedInquiry, we help customers streamline operations, boost efficiency, and unlock value through strong implementation, change management, and industry best practices.

As an Engagement Manager, you’ll be a senior leader with consulting, agency, or industry experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Information. You’ll manage 1–2 key client accounts and smaller engagements, owning executive relationships and driving business development in collaboration with internal teams. Leading a team of consultants, you’ll ensure high-quality project delivery with a strong focus on medical content operations—spanning tools, systems, and processes across the product lifecycle. You’ll also contribute to broader initiatives like KOL targeting, impact frameworks, and organizational change, positioning yourself as a thought leader in 1–2 core areas of Veeva Medical.

If you are looking for an opportunity to shape medical content strategies in an innovative and fast-paced environment, this is a great opportunity for you.

This is a remote, full-time permanent role with Veeva. It is customer-facing and we have no work location requirement as long as you are based within North America and are close to an airport to meet future travel requirements.

What You’ll Do
  1. Lead 1-2 large/complex customer engagements overseeing approximately $1mil of revenue annually; maintain key customer relationships at a senior level within the organization
  2. Lead a team of consultants to deliver projects with excellence; ensuring profitability, quality of deliverables and customer satisfaction
  3. Lead projects that optimize medical content operations including content creation, approval, content dissemination, global-to-local operations etc.
  4. Identify and establish/build new offerings that further optimize the medical content operations for our customers
  5. Support customers with defining value story and case for change to implement new Veeva tools
  6. Give input to the strategic direction and define key performance indicators for increased efficiency throughout the content end-to-end supply chain
  7. Lead the development and delivery of communication and change management programs in support of the rollout of Veeva Medical or new functionalities within each
  8. Work closely with internal teams across product, strategy and sales to support business development efforts with new and existing customers
  9. Responsible for building own pipeline of business; lead on business development opportunities including proposal development, financials and client engagement to secure the opportunity
  10. Engage in broader Medical Business Consulting activities to support holistic medical affairs excellence, including field medical activation, organizational change for MA/MI teams, KOL strategy and measuring medical’s impact
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree is required
  2. 8+ years of experience within a management consulting company or as a senior lead (Group Account Director and above) at a medical communications agency or 5+ years of experience at a Life Sciences company within their Medical Organization
  3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience with medical content processes and deliverables as part of either medical affairs or medical information teams (industry or vendor partner)
  4. Strong track record of experience leading and overseeing the delivery of client advisory engagements
  5. Core management consulting skills, including preparation and facilitation of workshops, development of client presentations, project management (timeline development, budget and staffing management, task planning etc.), team oversight, change management, and ability to develop structured approaches/methodologies to business problems
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  7. Ability to travel roughly 20-40% but this can vary depending on the engagement
  8. Experience working with a content management system; preferably, Veeva Vault
  9. Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance
  10. Flexible PTO and company paid holidays
  11. 1% charitable giving program
Compensation
  1. Base pay: $85,000 - $170,000
  2. The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.

Work Where It’s Best for You

Work Anywhere means you can work in an office or at home on any given day. It’s about getting the work done in the way and place that works best for each person. This applies across all locations and departments.

Work Anywhere does not mean work at any time. We have predictable core hours where employees are generally available for meetings and collaboration. Employees are focused and available during core hours.

We invest in our offices to make them places where our employees like to go. If you work in the office three or more days a week, you will have a dedicated office workspace. Our offices function as hubs to draw people in, create social bonds, and where random connections and mixing of ideas happen. We’re investing more in offices, culture, and offsite meetings, not less.

Product teams are organized in regional product hubs for optimal collaboration and live within a time zone of their hub. Our current product hubs are located in Pleasanton, Columbus, Boston, Kansas City, New York City, Raleigh, and Toronto. We create opportunities for teams to get together in person regularly.

Customer-facing roles, such as Sales and Professional Services, live near and/or travel to their customers.

When an employee moves within a country it does not cause a change in salary. Where you live impacts you and your family. Not knowing if your compensation will change if you move can cause stress and uncertainty for everyone. We wanted to eliminate that.

Work at Veeva. Work where it’s best for you.

A different kind of company. A Public Benefit Corporation.

Unlike a traditional corporation, whose only legal duty is to maximize shareholder value, PBCs consider their public benefit purpose and the interests of those materially affected by the corporation’s conduct—including customers, employees, and the community—in addition to shareholders’ interests.

What sets us apart

In February 2021, Veeva became the first public company to convert to a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC).

Unlike a traditional corporation, whose only legal duty is to maximize shareholder value, PBCs consider their public benefit purpose and the interests of those materially affected by the corporation’s conduct—including customers, employees, and the community—in addition to shareholders’ interests.

Veeva’s public benefit purpose is to help make the industries we serve more productive and create high-quality employment opportunities.

“Veeva’s engineering teams take a pragmatic approach to software development. We offer an ideal environment for engineers who value focus, speed and integrity in their work.”
