Job summary

Lycoming College is seeking a Discovery and Engagement Librarian, Assistant Professor to join the Academic Affairs team for a full-time, 12-month role in Williamsport, PA. You will lead information literacy initiatives, partner with faculty to integrate research skills into courses, and design engaging learning experiences for students.

You will develop tutorials and guides, provide reference services, and support First-Year Experience programs.

Qualifications

• MLS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience teaching information literacy.
• Ability to design inclusive instructional materials.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and assessment of the library's information literacy program.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate research skills and information literacy into courses.
• Design and teach instructional sessions using active learning strategies.
• Develop online tutorials, LibGuides, research guides, and instructional materials.
• Provide research consultations and reference services to students, faculty, and staff.
• Support First-Year Experience initiatives and campus-wide student success programs.
• Provide faculty development related to research, library resources, instructional technologies, and assignment design.
• Promote discovery and effective use of library resources and databases.
• Develop and maintain subject guides and user-centered discovery tools.
• Coordinate outreach initiatives and programming to raise awareness of services.
• Develop marketing materials across print, web, and social media.
