Job Overview
The Engagement Lead serves as the senior accountable leader for the successful execution of a complex Air Force client engagement. The role oversees overall contract performance, client relationship management, integrated delivery oversight, workforce leadership, and identification of follow‑on opportunities that advance client mission outcomes.
This is a high‑impact, high‑visibility leadership role with direct influence on client trust, mission outcomes, and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary senior point of contact for Air Force client leadership
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with government stakeholders across the engagement
- Provide strategic advice, issue resolution, and actionable recommendations aligned to mission priorities
- Lead executive meetings, status reviews, decision forums, and stakeholder engagements
Delivery and Execution
- Oversee execution of all contract tasks, deliverables, and workstreams
- Ensure alignment of scope, schedule, staffing, quality, and budget across the engagement
- Establish and maintain delivery governance, performance tracking, and escalation mechanisms
- Drive resolution of complex delivery, stakeholder, and operational issues
Team and Workforce Leadership
- Lead a small multidisciplinary team of consultants and SMEs
- Set expectations for quality, responsiveness, collaboration, and client service
- Coach task leads and develop future leaders across the engagement
- Partner with recruiting and leadership to ensure the engagement has the right talent mix
Financial and Operational Management
- Monitor contract performance, burn, margin, subcontractor performance, and resource utilization
- Identify risks early and implement mitigation or corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, reporting obligations, and internal management expectations
- Support program reviews and executive decision‑making with accurate, timely data
Growth and Account Expansion
- Identify follow‑on opportunities, adjacent needs, and strategic issues that can be addressed through trusted delivery
- Partner with growth and capture teams on on‑contract growth, option years, recompete planning, and targeted new work
- Contribute client insight and engagement strategy to proposals and account planning
- Help position the firm as a long‑term strategic partner to the Air Force client
Minimum Requirements
- Current and Active DOD/DOW TS/SCI
- 8+ years leading complex Air Force programs, engagements, or mission‑support initiatives
- Demonstrated success serving as a senior client‑facing leader on high‑visibility federal engagements
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, multiple workstreams, and executive stakeholders
- Proven ability to deliver high‑quality outcomes in dynamic, matrixed environments
- Strong understanding of Air Force operations, acquisition, modernization, logistics, readiness, or other relevant mission areas
- Experience identifying and shaping follow‑on work through client trust and performance credibility
- Excellent executive communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with contract performance management, staffing strategy, and financial oversight
- Interest in close engagement and collaboration with our AI and Data Practice teams
- Able to work on‑site in Dayton, Ohio Monday‑Thursday
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience supporting sUAS programs and/or conducting Industrial Base assessments
- Experience leading implementation efforts; e.g., Industrial Base, Workforce Management, Organizational Development
