ASI Government serves as a trusted adviser to government leaders seeking improved performance, enhanced organization effectiveness, and strategic change.

The ideal candidate is a highly adaptable management consultant who can quickly integrate into diverse Department of War (DoW) initiatives and contribute with minimal ramp-up time. This individual combines strategic thinking, analytical rigor, creativity, and strong execution skills to support complex mission-driven efforts across areas such as acquisition transformation, organizational design, process improvement, innovation, stakeholder engagement, and operational support. The consultant is comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, able to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations, and skilled at collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams. Success in this role requires intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to flex seamlessly across multiple projects and evolving mission priorities.

Mission & Agency Overview

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is the Department of Defense’s global logistics combat support agency, responsible for delivering critical supplies and services to America’s military and federal partners worldwide.

This program provides critical support to DLA’s mission through AI, RPA Automation, and Acquisition transformation—helping drive efficiency, resilience, and innovation across one of the largest and most complex supply chains in the world. Join an exciting project to help a federal client close their workload gap by improving workforce productivity through AI/RPA innovative solutions.

Position Description

ASI Government is seeking a Senior Consultant, Content Strategy to support business process improvement and the development and expansion of acquisition/AI tools to assist the acquisition workforce. The Senior Consultant will work directly with key client and internal ASI stakeholders to quickly understand and document acquisition and procurement processes for different types of procurements across various divisions. The candidate will identify, consolidate, and assess existing policies, procedures, templates, and other resources, determine and prioritize gaps, and develop new content to address gaps and/or enhance learning. The successful candidate is a quick study with strong analytical and writing skills, a process-oriented mindset, and the creativity to bring innovative ideas for streamlining how acquisition professionals — both new and experienced — complete their work. Acquisition experience is highly desirable but not required; the ability to rapidly absorb complex processes and translate them into clear, usable content is essential.

Key Responsibilities
Process Discovery and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work directly with DLA Energy stakeholders and subject matter experts to quickly understand and document acquisition and procurement processes for a wide range of buy types, including complex, high-dollar-value procurements
  • Conduct interviews, working sessions, and process walk-throughs with contracting officers, program staff, and other key stakeholders to capture detailed process knowledge and existing resources
  • Build trusted working relationships with client stakeholders to enable open dialogue and rapid information gathering
  • Translate complex or ambiguous knowledge from SMEs into clear, structured, and reusable documentation
Resource Identification, Analysis, and Gap Assessment
  • Consolidate and categorize existing acquisition resources, including policies, procedures, templates, checklists, job aids, and reference materials
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness, accuracy, and usability of existing resources
  • Identify gaps, redundancies, inconsistencies, and outdated content across the existing resource library
  • Recommend prioritization for content development, refresh, or retirement based on user needs and process criticality
Content Development
  • Develop new content — including process maps, procedures, instructions, decision trees, templates, checklists, training, and reference materials — to address identified gaps and support cradle-to-grave acquisition activities
  • Produce content quickly and iteratively in a fast-paced environment, balancing speed with quality and accuracy
  • Bring innovative ideas for streamlining existing processes and making acquisition activities easier and more intuitive for both new and experienced staff
  • Participate in technical and design discussions to ensure content development and tool development remain aligned
User Engagement and Pilot Support
  • Facilitate focus groups with target users to gather input on content needs, usability, and process pain points
  • Support pilot user testing activities, including preparing materials, observing sessions, capturing feedback, and synthesizing findings
  • Translate user feedback into actionable content improvements and process refinements
  • Help build user confidence and adoption through clear, accessible, and well-organized content
Qualifications
Required
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a government clearance; active clearance a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in roles requiring rapid absorption of complex processes and the development of clear, structured content (e.g., consulting, process documentation, training development, technical writing, business analysis, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex, ambiguous processes and translate them into clear, usable documentation
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess existing resources, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce polished, client-ready content quickly and accurately
  • Proven ability to engage credibly with subject matter experts and senior client stakeholders to elicit information and build trust
  • Experience facilitating meetings, working sessions, or user testing activities
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset
  • Team-oriented mindset with a demonstrated willingness to step in and support other team members or workstreams as needed to advance shared engagement and client goals
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight timeline
